Griffins Boards!

Andrew Griffin has decided to tell us a little bit about his quiver.

No.1 - 6'0" x 19" x 2 1/4" - This is my smaller wave board shaped by Matt Adams.  Its slightly wider and shorter than the rest of my boards and has a little more volume through out the board for that extra bit of float in smaller waves.  It also goes really well in over head waves, and is my back up board for contests.

No.2 - 6'2" x 18 1/2" x 2 1/4" - This board is one of my old faithful's and was my favourite board last year.  It still goes really well although I don't reckon its going too much longer now.  Again another back up  board for contests and works well in any waves over waist high.

No.3 - 6'2" x 18 3/4" x 2 1/4" - This is my newest board and I've only ridden it about 6-7 times and it's already my favourite.  I used this board for the first time the day before the Fat face night surf, and it's pretty rare to jump on a board and for it to go well first time. I've gone slightly wider than my standard board from last year as it helps getting through flatter sections of the waves.  This is my main contest board and goes really well in waves any size.

No.4 - 6'1" x 18 3/4" x 2 1/4" - This was another good board for me last year, but it's on its way out now.  I tend to use this board in hollower waves as it doesn't really matter if i break it.  It was a really good all round board for me last year but it's had a bit of damage now, and the repairs are starting to weigh it down a bit.

No.5 - 6'3" x 18 3/4" x 2 1/2" - This is a slightly bigger board with a rounded pin tail for slightly bigger waves or point breaks.  This went amazingly well for me at Rincon in California in double over head waves on the right hand point.  I don't use this board too often at the moment as it rarely gets big enough here in the summer.  But fingers crossed we'll get a few bigger swells soon.
