Gumballer Rob Dyrdek is returning to the Gumball 3000 rally for the 2008 10th Anniversary. The star of Rob & Big has been a close friend and associate of Gumball 3000 since 2002 when he took part with professional street skateboarder Josh Kalis, driving from New York to LA.
His enthusiasm for the event seduced his friends at DC and in 2004 they became gumball's official shoe sponsor, sending Rob and Big Black to tear up Europe in a BMW X5.
In 2005 Rob and Big took part again, this time with the DC Shoes super rally team, including DC founder Ken Block and Damon Way, in three tuned Subaru WRX's.
If you are unfamiliar with Rob or the reality MTV show Rob & Big, here is some quick background information...
Rob Dyrdek is a professional skateboarder. While still a teenager his skills attracted numerous sponsors and he was often endorsed to advertise and promote action sports related brands. The most famous being an opportunity to design a signature line of skate shoes, helping to establish what became DC Shoes.
Rob is also a budding entrepreneur. He is the co-owner of streetwear label 'Rogue Status,' with Travis Barker who is also riding on the 2008 rally.
Dyrdek will come straight off the Rally and start promoting his first film appearance, where he is staring alongside Hollywood legends Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in the film Righteous Kill, due out this coming September.
