PIMP MY BIKE!

Can't afford a new bike? Why not take some creative influence from a recent trend gaining momentum in Bangkok and modify your old one.

Thai's are well known for their unique flair of creating something new from something rather crap and teenagers have built whole communities around this recent movement.

Originally constructed because of the sheer inability to afford a new bike, these modifications have become an essential source of personal expression for all Thai University students and the dek waen (motorcycle gangs).

Most popular modifications are the airbrushing of a manga cartoon, creating a loud revving sound through adjusting the size of the exhaust and adding a boom box to the back.

Bikes in Thailand are small, speedy and zippy, there are no bulky choppers or Harleys and they hold fascination for both young males and females. Check out the typical girls bike below.

And how do you pay for this modification? Well some bikers in Bangkok have been known to sell their girlfriends for sex! But we recommend that you find a saturday job.
