Another 'day in the life' for you. This time Alex Jones...
Thursday
3pm: Finish work and head off to the gym for a light workout.
4pm: Get home, have some food, throw my stuff together, before heading off on 340 mile trip down to Kent for a test day on Brands Hatch GP circuit (prep for race meeting there 12th/13th).
6pm: Stop off to pick up Joe my Spanner man and some decent tunes for the trip.
10pm: Get stuck in another mega jam on the M25!
11pm: Finally arrive at the hotel and crash out!
Friday
7am: Wake up and get a full breakfast (protein) before heading off towards the track
8am: Meet up with the team and head off to sign on with Adrian (team mate) on our deadly paddock scooter.
10am: Made it safely to signing–on and back; get suited up for the first practice at 10:30.
11am: Debrief with Kevin (boss) about the session and what needs sorting out.
12pm: Second session begins with a much improved car allowing me to put in some very impressive lap times, even tho’ the track is a little crowded with a lot of historic cars – they are racing here this weekend!
2pm: On a full stomach from a curry at lunch head out for the third session …… which is wet …… a very wet summer we are having! Am quick in these conditions, however pity we are unable to continue with the dry development.
3.30pm: Final session of the day is dry but a big crash by another car on track means our running is limited to a few laps, very frustrating!
5pm: Final debrief on what has been a very positive day and head off back with a very tired Joe (he gets worked hard!) back up Anglesey.
10.00 pm: arrive home and head straight back out to unwind at local club. Not good when very tired! Lol . Still Saturday tomorrow, no race, so can lie in..
